its cool that you'll still be around. What major are you planning on pursuing? (I've heard of A&M, but can't say that I know where it is...)

I'm going into international studies. A&M is in College Station, about 90 minutes east of Austin. They are UT's traditional rival, but I really don't pay attention to stuff like that.

Ahh, I see now. My best friend, (who is currently in Missouri), is planning on studying International Business... I wonder if the two are somehow related (?) As far as my plans go right now, I would like to major in Communications. But my dream is to be a Stage Manager. I love theater. Unfortunately, there aren't many majors in that field... everything is so "actor-oriented"... it makes me wish that people would realize just how much goes on backstage. Without people behind the scenes, shows wouldn't happen...
Is your major somehow related to different languages? I know that Branwyn was planning on studying various languages, so that she could somehow end up as a translator, or something related. |

Yes, I am required to take three years of a foreign language. I chose Japanese. But, more than likely, to increase my sucess in the field, I will need to learn more languages. My major also requires that I study abroad for a semester in the country where my language of choice is spoken, so I'll be going to Japan my junior year. I can't wait!

Wow! That's great! I'm sure that will be a wonderful experience. I'm not sure about Japan, but I had a college history professor in high school that used to live in China, and he speaks very fondly of it. He tried to get a group together to go and visit for 2 weeks with him, but it was kinda expensive for students who were getting ready to send their life savings on college, lol. I would love to go somewhere like that, though. I've visited Europe, Mexico, Central and Southern America... I'm waiting for an opportunity to go to the Middle East or Australia...

Yeah, I love to travel, but the only real trip I've been on was to England and Wales my freshman year of high school. It was amazing. We got to see Stonehenge and an ancient Roman bathouse.

oh i would LOVE to do that someday!!! i was actually offered an invitation to go on a week and a half long jungle hiking trip to study ruins in south america. i was really proud to have been asked because it was invitation only, but alas, i didn't have the money or the knees for it. i was very painful to have to turn it down.
